Grasshopper on the web: Developing Web Applications with Rhino.Compute and Vue
Learn to build a custom web interface for real-time control and display of Grasshopper definitions on the web. In this workshop, you will discover how to prepare your Grasshopper scripts to run on the web using Rhino.Compute. You will also delve into the basics of Vue.js, a user-friendly web framework that allows you to create beautiful and reusable web interfaces for controlling your Grasshopper definition inputs.

Additionally, you will gain hands-on experience with the Three.js web geometry library to develop dynamic and custom 3D scenes for your website. Students will have the opportunity to use their own definitions and make them work on the web.

Requirements:
Attendees will be required to have the following skills to be able to attend this workshop:
- Basics of Rhino/Grasshopper
- Basics of any programming language
- NB* Bring your own Grasshopper definition! The last part of the workshop will be working with your definition to bring it to the web
Attendees will need to bring a laptop (Windows is preferred) with the following installed:
- Rhino 7 or 8
- Hops plugin from Package Manager
- Visual Studio Code https://code.visualstudio.com/download
- Git (use default configuration) https://git-scm.com/downloads
- GitHub Account: Create a freeGitHub account https://github.com/
- GitHub Desktop https://desktop.github.com/ (Sign up with your GitHub account)
NB* For this Workshop it is advised that the Windows system is preferred, Mac users might not be able to recreate all parts of the workshop.

Justyna Szychowska – KPF
Justyna is a senior software developer at KPF Urban Interface, leading in-house software development efforts. She has a background in architecture and computational design and previously worked as a Computational Design Specialist at Grimshaw. Justyna holds a master’s degree in Architectural Computation from the Bartlett School of Architecture. She is also a teaching faculty at the Institute of Advanced Architecture of Catalonia and has previously taught at the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, and the University of Westminster.

David Andrés Leon – IAAC
David is a consultant for digital technologies in the AEC industry with particular focus in web development and AI applications. He is also currently director of the Master of Advanced Computation for Architecture and Design in the Institute for Advanced Architecture of Catalonia IAAC, faculty of the Norman Forster Institute Foundation and the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya. His goal is to empower designers with digital knowledge to leverage the design process. He has been involved in various research collaborations and co-author numerous publications in the field of architectural research.
