Our job is to make architects’ lives easier by simplifying and improving workflows—because design should be the focus, not the struggle. At the core of our presentation are BEAM and Rhino Sync, two tools built on this principle. BEAM, a widely (and wildly) used tool, enhances Rhino objects with structured data, allowing easy transfer to Revit or IFC. Rhino Sync, our latest product (still in alpha), enables real-time, multi-user collaboration in Rhino. From optimizing workflows to developing custom solutions, we showcase how our tools bring design into the era of data-driven processes maintaining simplicity.
Mikael Santrolli - I began my career at Zaha Hadid Architects and Foster + Partners, working extensively with BIM and computational design. Over time, I realised technology could do more than optimise workflows—it could redefine the entire design process. That led me to coding, bridging the gap between architecture and software development.
At MKS DTECH, I create tools that simplify digital workflows, helping architects work more efficiently without getting lost in technical complexity. BEAM is a prime example, empowering users with simplicity and seamless data integration. My goal is to develop technology that allows architects to focus on what they do best: designing.
Mauro Sabiu - Working at Perkins+Will and Zaha Hadid Architects, I was exposed to the complexities of BIM and the challenges of delivering projects in the AEC industry. Seeing how much time architects spend on repetitive tasks pushed me to explore how technology could enhance the creative process, not just streamline production.
At MKS DTECH, I focus on building solutions that make design more intuitive and enjoyable. BEAM is a key example, helping architects move data between Rhino and Revit effortlessly. My goal is to create tools that support designers, letting them focus on ideas rather than battling software.
